Sports Hall of Fame
The Initiative to immortalize the legacies from Nanaimo’s sports community was launched in 2008 and recognizes achievement in five categories – Athlete, Builder, Media, Pioneer, and Team.
Located in the lobby of the museum, the Sports Hall of Fame is free to view, and showcases Nanaimo’s talented and dedicated sporting community. Nominations to the SHOF are accepted year-round, and the Induction Ceremonies happen every second year.
We are actively looking for nominations from the community. Please email manager@nanaimomuseum.ca or call 250-753-1821 with inquiries and to avoid multiple nominations for the same nominee.

2015 Wally Buono Award Ceremony
The Wally Buono Award Recipient for 2014 is Dylan Chapdelaine of the CJFL VI Raiders! We were pleased to host the invitation-only award ceremony here at the Nanaimo Museum last May. The Museum recently became the home of this prestigious national award thanks to an exciting collaboration with the St. Marche family and the St. Bernard Pass Charitable Foundation.
