Seated in the heart of Nanaimo’s vibrant downtown district, the museum is located in the Port of Nanaimo Centre building right off Commercial Street. Our main entrance is directly beside Serious Coffee on Museum Way, and our elevator & parkade entrance is through the VI Conference Centre lobby via Gordon Street. Surrounded by entertainment, dining & shops and minutes away from the Old City Quarter, Nanaimo Waterfront, & transportation options, the museum is a must-visit destination.

The Museum also manages the Bastion, an iconic heritage building located along the Nanaimo Waterfront at the end of Bastion St. and a short walk away from the museum. During the summer it operates as a Nanaimo Tourism Information Center and is located at 94 Front St.
