Metis Heritage Celebration
Saturday, November 16 | 1:00pm – 4:30pm
The Mid-Island Métis Nation and the Nanaimo Museum invite you to join us for the opening of a special exhibition at the museum to honour and celebrate Métis heritage in Nanaimo.
See the newly redesigned HBC era permanent exhibit as well as a temporary display case arranged by MIMN, featuring significant Métis cultural pieces and historic artifacts. Stay and enjoy the festivities including fiddle music, finger-weaving, a history presentation, genealogy, information tables & displays, and jigging! Light refreshments will be served, including bannock with saskatoon berry jam.
The formal program will begin at 1:00pm and the activities will run until 4:30pm. Hope to see you there!
