Welcome to Africa’s rich diversity through Afro Fusion Sharqi Dance — a new fusion style inspired by dance movements from five regions of the continent!
In this 1-hour open-level workshop, you’ll explore how movement and rhythm shift across Africa while discovering new ways to move and express yourself. Open to everyone — come connect with vibrant rhythms and celebrate the beauty of African dance.
Open to ages 13 and up.
Tickets cost $25/person, and pre-registration is required. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable to other dates or programs. A minimum of 20 participants is required for this program to proceed.
PLEASE NOTE: Although online payment is made through PayPal, a PayPal account is not required, only a credit card or debit card. Please note that no physical ticket will be issued. Your spot in this tour is confirmed once you have the PayPal transaction confirmation. Registration can also be made over the phone or in person.

Instructor: Tania Amaral, aka Pynksy Shell
Born and raised in Mozambique (South East Africa), Tania aka Pynksy Shell is a dance educator and cultural activist for Africa’s diversity. Founder of the dance style Afro Fusion Sharqi Dance, she is also CEO of Africa Day Nanaimo. Africa Day Nanaimo 2026 is happening Saturday, May 30 at Beban Park Social Centre.
