Who were Brother XII’s followers?
The Brother XII’s Followers presentation, led by curator Aimee Greenaway, explores the stories behind the people who supported one of the most infamous cult leaders in Canadian history, including what happened to them after the colony collapsed. From stories of a family deeply rooted in cults and a wealthy American heiress to new stories revealed in a 1931 census. Brother XII’s rapid rise and fall into high-profile court cases, scandals and conspiracy theories will be touched upon to shed light on his followers’ experiences. Stories and photos provide insight into this infamous and controversial chapter in Nanaimo’s history.

Duration: 60 minutes
This presentation takes place in person at 6:30-7:30pm at Nanaimo Museum
Please arrive at the Museum approximately 15 minutes in advance of start time to check in. The Museum is located at 100 Museum Way, downtown Nanaimo, next to Serious Coffee on Commercial St.
Pre-registration is required. Due to popularity of Brother XII Presentations, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable to other presentation dates.
However, If you are feeling ill or have flu- like symptoms, please do not attend. In this case, we will either do our best to transfer your tickets to another date (depending on availability), or arrange a refund.
The Nanaimo Museum is a non-profit society, and all ticket proceeds go directly back into funding for programs like this one. Thank you!
