Coal Miner’s Child

Grade 1-2

Experience what life was like for children in coal mining families 100 years ago. Take a seat in wooden desks complete with ink wells and participate in a lesson with a strict teacher. Play with toys that were popular in the early 1900s, and take a tour of the historical Miner’s Cottage in Piper’s Park (5 min walk from the Museum).

This is an in-person, in-museum program, and includes walking outdoors to reach the miner’s cottage. Please ensure that all participants are dressed for the weather. Please direct any accessibility questions to Steph at [email protected].
