Brave the dark and the dearly departed this October in Nanaimo!
Join us for a brand new Haunted Nanaimo Lantern Tour for tales of mysterious apparitions, spooky locations, and objects that seem to have a mind of their own. Past tour guests will be thrilled with the several new stories and stops. On select evenings in October, join us for this mostly outdoor walking tour of downtown to hear about the darker side of Nanaimo’s history while visiting local landmarks. The tour is approximately 90 minutes long.
What to bring:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Weather-appropriate clothing

- Courage!

Age: 12 years+ recommended (mature content & tour length)

The tours run rain or (moon)shine.
Meet at the Museum approximately 10-15 minutes in advance of the start time to ensure a prompt tour departure. The Museum is located at 100 Museum Way, downtown Nanaimo. Our front door is next to Serious Coffee on Commercial St.
The route starts at the Museum and includes hills and walking approximately 1.5km around downtown. This tour includes a visit inside the Bastion, which is not accessible for those who use a wheelchair or who have limited mobility. The rest of the tour route is wheelchair accessible.
Pre-registration is required. More dates may open depending on demand.
Due to the popularity of Lantern Tours, Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable to other tour dates.
However, if you are feeling ill or have flu-like symptoms, please do not attend. In this case, we will either do our best to transfer your tickets to another date (depending on availability) or arrange a refund.
The Nanaimo Museum is a non-profit society, and all ticket proceeds go directly back into funding for programs like this one. Thank you!
Although online payment is made through PayPal, a PayPal account is not required, only a credit card or debit card. Please note that there will be no physical ticket issued. Your spot in this tour is confirmed once you have the PayPal transaction confirmation. Registration can also be made over the phone or in person.
