Halloween 2026 | The Curse of Crystal Cavern

Calling all Adventurers!
A villain has placed a curse on the museum, and we need your help to banish them! Shiny, sparkly, sinister crystals plague the gallery but seem to be spreading from the coal mine. Prepare a shield and search the gallery for the banishment spell – you’ll need to find the magical sword and sorcerer’s grimoire. Then, you will be ready to brave the dark and enter the crystal cavern to lay your banishment spell and defeat this iridescent villain!
Costumes are encouraged all month long!
Kids’ Case Files: The Curse of Crystal Cavern is available from October 1-31 from 10am-4pm Tues-Sat, and is included with admission by donation.
I Spy: Black Cats
While you’re taking a victory lap, look out for the 13 black cats in our October I Spy!
Haunted Coal Mine – The Curse of Crystal Cavern
The Haunted Coal Mine returns on Saturday, October 31!
Time: 11:30am-3:00pm
Who knows what – or who – will appear around the crystal corner! See if you’re brave enough to travel through the Crystal Cavern and add your banishment spell to the rest!*

*The Haunted Coal Mine event includes jumpscares within the coal mine exhibit. There are no jumpscares in the mine for the remainder of the month.
Haunted Coal Mine – The Curse of Crystal Cavern is a family event and children must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that some children may find this event frightening. There may be flashing lights in use, and the event will have dark spaces.
