Summer 2026 Youth positions!

The Nanaimo Museum is hiring summer positions! Come and join a great team as you learn to develop your skills in a heritage and tourism environment. The Museum intends to hire one (1) summer youth staff in each of the four (4) positions below, subject to funding approval and staffing requirements. Start and end dates may vary based on funding approval and other factors.

Wage: $18.25/hour, 30 hours/week

Work term: June – Sept 7, 2026, including some evenings, weekends and holidays.

 Eligibility criteria for CSJ positions: 

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the work term;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status;
    • International students are not eligible candidates. 
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada and in BC.
 Eligibility criteria for YCW positions:

  • Be available for the full term of employment;
  • Be a student in university, highschool, or CÉGEP; 
  • Be between the ages of 16 and 30;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status.
    • International students are not eligible candidates.
