GUIDED SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Coal Miner’s Child

Grade 1-2

Experience what life was like for children in coal mining families 100 years ago. Take a seat in wooden desks complete with ink wells and participate in a lesson with a strict teacher. Play with toys that were popular in the early 1900s. Due to construction, students will see how a typical mining family lived in Nanaimo with a virtual Miner’s Cottage tour, supported by interactive artifacts.
