  this year (Thanks COVID!)\, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still h
 ave some spooky Halloween fun!  \n\nOctober 28 Update: Make sure you bo
 ok your time slot to so that we can be sure you acomodate you during our T
 rick or Truth Halloween event! Please be aware that our Coal Mine exhibit 
 will be closed on Saturday\, October 31st and will re-open on Tuesday\, No
 vember 2nd. \n\nVisit the museum October 20-24 and 27-31 to experience the
  self-guided Trick or Truth: Haunted Nanaimo Experience! For the two weeks
  leading up to Halloween\, visit the gallery with your phone or tablet\, a
 nd maybe a pair of headphones.  \n\nThe museum team has made four local 
 ghost stories into videos. But\, there’s a catch! Three of them are ins
 pired by real local experiences\, and one is a fake – our best attempt t
 o make up a creepy Nanaimo ghost story. It’s up to you to decide which o
 ne is trick\, and which are truth.  \nHow to Participate:  \n\n 	Visi
 t the museum Oct 20-31 by timed admission. Admission is by donation thro
 ugh Fall 2020! \n 	Bring your phone or tablet\, and maybe a pair of headp
 hones into the gallery with you \n 	Locate the four video stops in the ga
 llery  \n 	Scan the QR code or enter the links to watch the videos (See 
 below how to prep your device in advance!)\n 	Vote at the front desk: whic
 h one is a trick?  \n 	Scan the QR code and enter the password for the Tr
 ick or Truth Revealed page to find out if you know your Nanaimo ghost stor
 ies \n 	Shhh\, don’t tell anyone until Halloween!  \n\nCheck out our 
 events page to choose your timed entry admission ticket! After you click\,

 evice before you enter!\nFollow these instructions to make sure your devic
 e is ready to read QR codes. Read on below\, or download this handy instru
 ction PDF for detailed steps: QR Code Instructions (PDF 77.4KB)\n\nInstruc
 tion panels are also printed off in strategic locations in the gallery if 
 you need them!\n\nTo read QR codes with ANDROID devices (any non-Apple dev
 ice):\n\nIf you already have a QR code reader app (eg Google Lens)\, open 
 the app and hold the device so that the square lines up over the code. Cli
 ck the shutter button and click through to the video. \n\nTo install t
 he free Google Lens app to scan the QR Code:  \n\n 	Connect to Shaw Go 
 WiFi (can be used by anyone in the gallery)\n 	Open Google Play and search
  “Lens” \n 	The first result will be Google Lens\, tap “Install” 
  \n 	Once it’s installed\, select “Open”  \n 	Select open Camera
  \n 	The first time you use this app\, it will ask “Allow Google to tak
 e pictures and record video?” select “Allow”  \n 	Hold the device 
 so that the square lines up over the QR code\, and click the shutter butto
 n to scan.  \n 	Tap the link that appears\, and enjoy the show!  \n\nT
 o read QR codes with Apple iOS:  \n\n 	Connect to Shaw Go WiFi (can be 
 used by anyone in the gallery)\n 	Open Camera  \n 	Point camera at QR c
 ode and hold steady \n 	Click on the link to safari that will pop up a
