Spring has sprung!

Cherry blossoms have bloomed in the Museum! How many can you spot?

Cherry blossoms are a beautiful sign of springtime. To celebrate spring, the new permanent exhibit “Japanese Canadians in Nanaimo” and the feature exhibit “Broken Promises,” paper cherry blossoms have been hidden throughout the gallery.

Did you know most types of cherry trees make blossoms with exactly 5 petals? And that cherry blossoms are called “sakura” in Japanese?

I Spy: Cherry Blossoms is fun for all ages! It’s available 10am-4pm Tuesday-Saturday, April 4-May 31, and is included with admission by donation.
