Community Gallery
Past Exhibit: Plants for the People
Community Gallery Exhibit: March 2 – May 5
About the Exhibit:
Plants for the People by artist Nanette Moss is intended to connect with the community through joyful depictions of botanicals. Her acrylic mixed-media paintings depict expressive plants with abstract backgrounds. The exhibition shows a glimpse ‘behind the scenes’ by presenting sketches created as meditations alongside the paintings they inspired.
Artist Statement:
“Hearing loss led me from performance art to 2D art with a heightened focus on the visual and tactile senses. I use colour, shape and texture to express emotion. Botanical illustration and expressionism are influences. Themes are transformation, the power of reframing, and healing through contemplation in nature.”
