Heiltsuk Carving with Charles George

Join Charles George of the Heiltsuk Bella Bella Nation in a half-day carving Crafternoon. Participants will receive a 3.5-foot-long basswood paddle blank to carve. Please come to the session ready to decide on a subject to carve (favourite sports, animals, flowers, etc are all great ideas).
Hear Charles tell stories and help participants learn carving basics. Charles will help design and stain the finished paddles. By the end of the day, participants will take home their carved and stained paddle.
$95 per person. Ticket price includes all materials and tools for the workshop, a 3.5-foot-long paddle blank to take home, and admission to the museum.
Ages 15+. Minors should be accompanied by an adult. Any accompanying adults will not receive their own paddle, unless they have also purchased a ticket. 20 participants maximum.
